Dear Members,  

The Couta Boat Information Evening to be held at the QLYC on Friday September 8 is an opportunity for all Skippers and Crew to discuss some vital issues and opportunities regarding sailing in Port Phillip, prior to the upcoming season.

This will be the first in a series of Information and Guest speaker Evenings to be held every month on Fridays at the club.

This evening will especially focus on Couta Boat Safety with the following presentations:

Ian Campbell and Geoffrey Mathews – Sailing Program – opportunities to race or cruise – and special events

Colin White – Systems (Apps) for Crew Matching for boats skippers and crew,

Tom Cambridge – Cat 7 Safety Audits, routine maintenance, and critical safety checks, plus Q and A

Steve Lee – Tidal Flow in Port Phillip and yacht trim for performance and safety.

Starting time for presentations is 6pm sharp and we will finish by 9pm. The bar will be open as usual from 4:30 pm until close of business. A light supper will be supplied by the club.

There will be occasional breaks for socialising, sharing tales and perhaps discussion groups on the topics.
